I haven't updated since September. WTF is up with that?!?
So much has happened... yet so much hasn't happened.
After 2 snow/cold/blizzard days... I'm going back at it tomorrow morning. I'm going to start eating healthier, taking my lunch to work instead of buying it at the (wonderful amazing) café there, and not going out to eat as much. It'll help my wallet as well as my waistline.
I really need to change my life. Soon. Because if I don't, bad things will happen. Health-wise, money-wise... I've been so lucky up until now, but luck can't stay forever.
No more surgery talk. No more exercise talk either, for now... I'm not saying that I'm not going to, just that I'll exercise when I want to, without any obligation. Because now that I only belong to the JCC gym and it's much harder/impossible for me to water jog in the indoor pool, I don't really like exercising. I don't get the thrill out of it that other people get. But my focus is going to be on eating better.
My thyroid is also getting checked out and fixed with medication. My thyroid meds actually just got tripled after a blood test. Maybe that'll help some weight go down. Maybe...
Overall, my goal is to lose a few pounds before heading off to DC for my birthday weekend at the end of February. Because even though I have my own airplane seatbelt extender, it'd be nice not to have to use it... and as of the last time I flew, I was right on the brink. I've got 2 months. Wish me luck :-)
You can do it! For getting control of eating, have you tried cutting sugar (and most other carbs/grains) to low quantities of not out all together except for some fruit, and using whole, healthy fats? No counting, which is easier, and it may help get cravings under control.
ReplyDeleteI say the above because I'm sugar addicted and that has helped me.
ReplyDeleteI've tried "diets" such as South Beach in the past, but I can never stick with them. I honestly love food (of all types!) WAY too much to consider cutting anything out altogether. I love the comment though, and I'm glad that has helped you!!! Wish I got more comments on here :-) hint hint... Anyway, I'll have to focus on eating a balanced diet, more vegetables and fruit especially, and LESS carbs and sugar but not cutting it out because that would just kill me!
